The yukky vector is about the last thing in the world I should be attempting
to write about. Everytime I see a tutorial that says 'vector', I
close the window! Regardless of my intitail thought when faced with
vectors which is RUN!!!, I have learned a couple of things which I will
attempt to share with others who hate vectors worse than nausea.
LET'S HAVE A LOOK!
Step 1
Create new image 400x400
Step 2
Flood fill layer with black if you want to use white for preshape.
Step 3
Set up preshape as below; start with an eclipse; white
fill; retain style = unchecked; creat as vector = checked;
antialias = checked; size = 1.
Step 4
Drag eclipse. When you finish the 'drag, the eclipse will be
a solid color.
Step 5
Grab the 'vector editing tool'.
and you will have the
mover tool which will of course move the object around. Oh, the 'object'
is the thing you just drew. Hover over the node at the edge
of the object and you can drag the shape to that direction.
Step 6
Right click on object (that shape you made) and choose Node Edit from
the menu.
Hovering over the edge of the object gives you the 'do nothing' tool
Hovering over a node gives you get the mover tool which allows you to
move the node which changes the shape.
You can moce the node any direction and the movement reacts something
like if you had punched the object at that point with your fist - and by
now you could just be crazy enough to do it!
Holding down the 'CONTROL' key while hovering over the outline of the
object will give you the 'add' tool; by clicking, you add another
node to drag around and help you shape that blob of nothingness.
The more nodes you add the more changes you can make.
NODE TYPES
symmetrical node
asymmetrical node
symmetrical keeps everything centered to the node moved.
assymmetrical allows node to be uncentered
cusp node
now you're getting the angle!
as I understand; it keeps the lines from jagging out where you
apply the turn
Closed when Finished
