Prepare for Finishing Touches
Reduce the image [Image/Resize] according to settings below. Note that you should uncheck the box, "Resize all layers" because you do not want the canvas resized, too. Then sharpen it, Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen. Always sharpen any image you reduce in size. If needed, increase canvas size to allow room for adding hanger rings and wire. use the Mover Tool to move the image down near the bottom of the canvas.

Adding Hanger Rings and Wire
Add a new raster layer. Set your foreground color to white, background to null. Select the Preshape Tool
, ellipse, line width 4, anti-alias checked [see sample screen below]]. Draw a small circle [if you want it to be a perfect circle, hold down the shift key while drawing it. Take the selection tool and draw a rectangle around the circle, then click on the circle to select it. Use the same method to color it as you used on the leading, either a preset, color, or pattern. Now copy it - Edit/Copy.

Move the ring down to the center of the suncatcher. To put the ring behind it, open the layer palette and moved Layer 2 down below Layer 1. Paste the second ring, Edit/Paste/As New Layer. Move it to the top of the canvas aligning it evenly with the first ring.

Add a new raster layer. Select the Draw Tool [it look like a pencil and is located above the Preshape tool], Single Line, Size 4. With the foreground still white, background null, draw a line between the two rings. Apply the leading you used previously on the rings. Is it too long? Then use your move tool and move it to a blank space on the canvas. Draw a rectangle around a part of the bottom, then press the delete key. Move it back between the rings. If it's still too long, repeat. If too short, undo and draw again. I nearly always use a blank space on my image to draw my pieces, then use the move tool to move them into place. And I always add a new raster layer for each piece.

Merging Layer and Cropping
From the menu bar, select Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Select the Crop Tool, and draw a box around the suncatcher. Move your cursor to the line edges and move the lines close to the image on all four sides, then in the Crop Tool Options, press the Crop Image tab.

I reduced the size of my image, Image/Resize, 75%. [Remember to sharpen any image you reduce in size.] Then save it as a tube, File/Export/Picture Tube. If you're going to animate it, you'll need the tube to follow my instructions on Page 5 for the animation. Actual size of my tube image is 227 x 438. I nearly always save my work as tubes as well as a PSP file.
