It can be used to get rid of areas of the active layer or selection. It may be helpful whenever using multi-layered images as servings of a maximum layer erased allows lower layers to exhibit through.

The Eraser functions by marking regions of the layer to be transparent (i.e. getting an Alpha worth of zero) or partly transparent (Alpha Original Image After while using Eraser Tool in the center of the look. Note the grey and white-colored checkerboard pattern (denoting transparency).

The Eraser inherits the comb Width and Hardness settings in the Tool Bar . The Comb Width determines how wide the circular tip from the Eraser is going to be. Observe that the end from the Eraser will be circular – it’s not easy to alter this.

Example – Brush Width

At the very top the comb Width is placed to 5 pixels wide. In the centre the comb Width is 20 pixels. At the end the comb Width is 65 pixels.

Hardness signifies how hard or soft the erased edges are. A minimal setting provides a softer or even more diffuse edge, while a higher setting provides a harder or even more well defined edge.

At the very top report is placed to 10%. Note the soft edge. In the centre report would be to 50%. At the end report is 100%.

Hardness can be viewed as the strength from the antialiasing accustomed to soften edges. Due to this link, report setting is overlooked if Antialiasing is disabled.

The Eraser inherits the Alpha worth of the

color when the Left Computer mouse button can be used. It inherits the Alpha worth of the

color when the Right Computer mouse button can be used. This assists you to result in the ‘soft’ erasings.

Example – Alpha Setting

Around the left, the Alpha Setting is placed to 60. The opacity from the erased area is going to be 255-60=195 and also the original color information is going to be retained.
In the centre the Alpha Setting is placed to 120. The opacity from the erased area is going to be 255-120=135. Again, the initial color information is going to be retained.
Around the right, he Alpha Setting is placed to 255 (maximum). The opacity from the erased area is going to be 255-255=. The initial color information is going to be substituted for white-colored (#FFFFFF)

The Eraser tool in Microsoft Paint functions by painting with white-colored. If the behavior is preferred, make use of the Paintbrush oral appliance select white-colored as

color within the Colors Window.
